📤 How Price Submission Works
Why submit? Every price you submit earns you 2 search credits and 10 reputation points. Verified submissions earn you a bonus 25 points. The community depends on contributors like you for accurate data.

Send your submission

Use the format: SUBMIT [item] [price] [market]
Example: SUBMIT Rice 28000 Bodija Market Ibadan
Prices should be in Naira. Include the market name and city if possible.

Automatic verification

Your submission is checked against the current market average. If it's within a reasonable range, it goes live immediately. If it's significantly different, it goes into community review — this is normal and doesn't mean your price is wrong.

Community cross-check

If your price is flagged for review, the next users who search for that item in your area will be asked to vote on whether your price sounds right. Two confirmations and your price goes live. You'll receive a WhatsApp notification when this happens.

Earn credits and reputation

You earn 2 credits immediately on submission regardless of verification outcome. If your price is community-verified you earn a bonus 25 reputation points. Rejected prices result in a small point deduction and a 1-hour cooldown.

⚠️ Submission rules: Only submit prices you have personally observed. Do not submit fake or inflated prices. Three rejected submissions in a row triggers a 1-hour cooldown and your account may be flagged for review.

Price alerts notify you via WhatsApp when a commodity hits your target price. You never need to check manually — Oja Live will message you the moment the price moves.

When a verified price submission matches your alert, you'll receive a WhatsApp message immediately with the item, price, market, and location.

Free plan: 1 active alert at a time.
OjaLive Trader: 10 active alerts.
OjaLive Oga and above: Unlimited alerts.

Your CodeStrider reputation reflects your contribution to the ecosystem across all three apps — Oja Live, BizHub, and ProFinda. The more you contribute, the higher your tier, and the more benefits you unlock.

Cross-app multiplier: Using 2 apps gives you a 1.5× points multiplier. Using all 3 apps gives you 2× points on everything you do. The fastest path to Icon is through all three apps.

How do I check a price? ▾
Send the item name to the Oja Live WhatsApp number. For example, send Rice or Cement Lagos. You'll get a response within seconds showing the current price range, the market it was last recorded in, and when it was updated. You get 5 free checks per day on the free plan.
I've run out of daily checks. What do I do? ▾
You have two options:
  • Submit a price — send SUBMIT [item] [price] [market] to earn 2 extra credits immediately.
  • Upgrade your plan — OjaLive Trader gives you 50 checks/day. OjaLive Oga gives you unlimited checks. Send SUBSCRIBE to see plans.
Your free checks reset at midnight every day.
I submitted a price but it says it's under review. Is something wrong? ▾
Nothing is wrong. This is normal. When a submitted price is significantly different from the current market average, it goes into community review before publishing. This protects everyone from bad data. The next few users who search for that item in your area will be asked to vote on whether your price sounds accurate. Once two people confirm it, your price goes live and you earn bonus reputation points. You'll receive a WhatsApp notification when this happens.
My price was rejected. What does that mean? ▾
It means the community voted that your submitted price didn't match what they're seeing in the market. This could be because:
  • You observed a price in a different context (wholesale vs retail)
  • The price has since changed
  • The quantity or unit was different from the market standard
A single rejection gives you a small point deduction (-5) and a 1-hour cooldown. Three rejections in a row result in a larger deduction (-15) and your account may be flagged for admin review. Always submit prices you have personally verified.
How does the reputation system work? ▾
Every action across the CodeStrider ecosystem earns you reputation points — submitting prices, completing jobs, logging expenses. As your points grow, you advance through tiers: Apprentice → Trader → Oga → Chief → Legend → Icon. Higher tiers unlock subscription discounts (up to 25% off). Using more than one CodeStrider app gives you a points multiplier — 1.5× for two apps, 2× for all three. Send LEVEL to check your current tier and progress.

How do I upgrade my subscription? ▾
Visit ojalive.ng/subscribe or send SUBSCRIBE to the bot. Enter your WhatsApp number to see if you qualify for a reputation discount. Select your plan and pay securely via Paystack (card, bank transfer, or USSD). Your subscription activates immediately and you'll receive a WhatsApp confirmation with your new limits.
Can I cancel my subscription? ▾
Yes. Your plan stays active until the end of your billing period. There are no automatic renewals — you pay manually each period. To cancel or manage your subscription, send MY PLAN to the bot or contact support via WhatsApp.
What is CodeStrider? How does it relate to Oja Live? ▾
CodeStrider Holdings is the company behind Oja Live, BizHub, and ProFinda — three connected apps for Nigeria's informal economy. Oja Live handles market prices. BizHub handles business bookkeeping and invoicing. ProFinda connects skilled workers with employers. They share a single reputation system — your contributions in one app benefit your standing in all three. CodeStrider bundle plans give you access to multiple apps at a discount.
How does the market days feature work? ▾
Send MARKET DAYS [city] or WHEN IS [market name] to check if a market is open today and when it next opens. Oja Live supports daily markets, weekly markets, and traditional 4-day Igbo cycle markets (Eke, Orie, Afor, Nkwo). For example: When is Eke Awka or Market days Kano. Is my phone number safe? What data do you store? ▾
Your phone number is used only to track your credits, reputation, and subscription. It is never shared with third parties or used for marketing outside of Oja Live service messages. We do not store the content of your WhatsApp messages beyond what is needed to process price submissions. All data is stored securely with row-level security on our database.
Does Oja Live work on a basic phone or slow internet? ▾
Yes. Oja Live is delivered entirely through WhatsApp which works on 2G connections and basic feature phones. You do not need to download any app. As long as you can send and receive WhatsApp messages, Oja Live works.
I think a price on Oja Live is wrong. What should I do? ▾
If you see a price you believe is inaccurate, you can help correct it in two ways:
  • Submit the correct price using SUBMIT [item] [price] [market]. Your submission will be cross-checked against existing data.
  • Vote on community checks — when you search for an item, you may be asked to verify a recently submitted price. A NO vote helps remove inaccurate data.
