Oja Live is built on trust. To give you accurate prices and keep your account secure, we collect only the information we need — nothing more. Your data belongs to you, not to advertisers, and we're always here if you have questions about how it's handled.

1. Who we are

OjaLive is a real-time market price tracking platform operated by CodeStrider Holdings Ltd, a company incorporated in Nigeria under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

When this policy refers to "we", "us", or "our", it means CodeStrider Holdings Ltd. When it refers to "you" or "your", it means any person who uses OjaLive — whether through our website at ojalive.ng, our WhatsApp bot, or any other channel we operate.

2. What data we collect

Data you give us directly

  • WhatsApp number — when you message our bot or register an account. This is your primary identifier on OjaLive.
  • Name — if you choose to provide it when registering.
  • Email address — if you register on the website, subscribe to a paid plan, or list your business as a vendor.
  • Business details — if you register as a vendor: business name, market, state, and product category.
  • Price submissions — commodity name, price, market location, and date when you submit a price report.

Data we collect automatically

  • Usage data — which features you use, how many price checks you perform, and when.
  • Reputation and credits — your contribution score, tier level, and credit balance, derived from your activity on the platform.
  • Device and browser data — on the website only: browser type, device type, and general location derived from IP address. We do not store your precise location.

Data we do not collect

  • We do not access the content of your WhatsApp conversations outside of messages sent directly to our bot number.
  • We do not collect payment card details — all payments are processed by Paystack and governed by their privacy policy.
  • We do not collect your precise GPS location.

3. How we use your data

We use the data we collect for the following purposes:

  • Providing the service — processing your price checks, managing your alerts, tracking your credits and subscription, and displaying verified prices.
  • Service messages — sending you price alert notifications, subscription confirmations, and important account updates via WhatsApp. These are not marketing messages and cannot be opted out of while you use the service.
  • Improving the platform — understanding how people use OjaLive so we can fix bugs and build better features.
  • Trust and safety — detecting fraudulent price submissions, managing account flags, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
  • Billing — processing subscription payments and maintaining payment records.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not allow third-party advertisers to target you through OjaLive.

4. How we store your data

Your data is stored on Supabase, a cloud database platform, on servers located within secure data centres. We use industry-standard security measures including row-level security, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and access controls that restrict who on our team can read your data.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (such as payment records for tax purposes, which we retain for 7 years).

Price submissions you make may be retained in anonymised form as part of our market data archive even after account deletion, as they form part of the collective public dataset that OjaLive is built on.

5. Who we share data with

We share your data only with the following categories of third parties, and only to the extent necessary to operate the service:

  • Sendchamp — our WhatsApp messaging provider, used to deliver bot responses and alert notifications to your phone. They process your phone number to route messages.
  • Paystack — our payment processor. They handle all payment card data. We pass them your email and subscription amount; we do not pass them your WhatsApp number or price submission history.
  • Anthropic — our AI provider. When you submit a price with an unusual format or location, a short text snippet may be sent to Anthropic's API for interpretation. No personal identifiers are included in these requests.
  • Supabase — our database infrastructure provider.

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics platforms that build user profiles for commercial purposes.

We may disclose your data if required by Nigerian law, a valid court order, or a legitimate law enforcement request.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct your data — ask us to fix inaccurate information.
  • Delete your data — request that we delete your account and personal data.
  • Restrict processing — ask us to stop using your data for certain purposes.
  • Withdraw consent — stop using the service at any time by sending STOP to our WhatsApp bot.

7. Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies. We use session storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to remember your preferences — such as your registered account details — while you browse the site. We do not use advertising cookies or share browsing data with analytics platforms.

The WhatsApp bot does not use cookies.

8. Children

OjaLive is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their personal data, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify active users via WhatsApp before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

Continued use of OjaLive after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
